The Chesterford Group was established in 2004 by father and son Hugh & James Lipscombe to purchase the entire shareholding of fishnchickn Ltd, the largest chain of fish and chip shops in the UK.The company is based in Bishop’s Stortford with its stores based in the South East, South and South West of the UK.Its primary role is to invest in opening new stores or purchasing existing businesses and opening them under one of its three core brands: fishnchickn, Churchill’s or Bankers.The Chesterford Group currently operate over 40 branded fish and chip shops in the UK, serving over 3 million meals a year.
Hugh is co-owner of the Chesterford Group and has 40 year’s experience of building successful fish and chip brands. He is the industry’s leading entrepreneur and is passionate about developing and mentoring talent within the business to ensure its successful growth.
James is co-owner of the Chesterford Group and has over 15 years of experience working within the industry. Starting working for the company in 2000, James has worked in a number of roles throughout the business and was appointed Managing Director in 2011. James is a board member of The London Chapter of The Young Presidents Organisation, a global community of business leaders under 45 years of age with 22,000 members in 125 countries worldwide: http://www.ypo.org/
Emma joined the company in 2000 as an Accounts & Administration Assistant, within a couple of years she progressed to a senior management role and in January 2015 was appointed Finance Director. Emma heads a team of 8 people and drives the financial strategy of the business with passion, energy and an innate ability to innovate and improve the company’s financial reporting.
Paul is a vastly experienced member of the team with over 20 years in the industry. Paul has worked in a number of positions throughout the company and was appointment Operations Director in 2011. Paul uses this experience to drive change and implement the board’s strategy and is ultimately responsible for the successful day to day operation of the company’s stores.
